“Brain training is the medicine of the future.”
~~ Deepak Chopra
Ever wonder why some people always seem calm, even when everything around them is chaotic? And why others are always excitable, even if there’s really nothing to be excited about?
These differences reflect the direct result of the brainwave patterns in their minds at that moment.
Most super-achievers naturally control their brainwaves, even if they’re unaware of doing so.
Right now…as you are reading this…your brain is sending out electrical impulses through your complex network of neurons (brain cells). These electrical impulses can be measured by an EEG machine, and viewed on a monitor as your brainwave patterns.
The speed (or frequency) of your brainwaves determines your state of mind and how you react to your environment. Basically, the faster your brainwaves, the faster thoughts are moving through your brain. And in the case of your brain, faster is NOT necessarily better.
- Beta – Your “Analytical” Brainwaves
Beta brainwaves vibrate at about 12 to 30+ cycles-per-second (cps). They are dominant in your normal waking consciousness, and are active anytime you talk or try to solve a problem. The slower beta brainwaves (from 12 to 15 cps) are especially productive. The higher level Beta vibrations (above 30 cps) are often referred to as “Gamma” brainwaves, and often accompany high levels of stress and anxiety. - Alpha – Your “Creative” Brainwaves
Alpha’s 8 to 11.9 cps vibrations are generally more dominant when you are relaxed and have your eyes closed. The faster Alpha vibrations occur with focused meditation, while the slower vibrations mark a shift from waking toward sleep.Alpha brainwaves are the building blocks for higher levels of awareness – and for the highly desirable “whole brain integration” brain state. - Theta – Your “Integrative” Brainwaves
Your Theta brainwaves vibrate from 7.9 down to 4 cps. Many think Theta is only found in the state of dreaming sleep. But a unique and wholly trainable Alpha/Theta brainwave combination is also directly connected to creative inspiration, super-learning, integrative emotional experiences, and enhanced memory. - Delta – Your “Intuitive & Healing ” Brainwaves
Delta brainwaves vibrate from 3.9 to an estimated .01 cps. Delta is the frequency of deep sleep, but is also a deeply healing frequency. In Delta our brains release Human Growth Hormone (HGH) – a natural anti-aging hormone.Delta brainwaves are also the “voice” of your deep intuition – a skill that is well-known to most super-achievers.
Every mental state you experience is the result of a combination of brainwaves. The proven benefits of the slower brainwaves typical of super-achievers includes:
Anti-Aging
Induced hemispheric synchronization offers anti-aging benefits. Dr. Robert Cosgrove, a MD and biomedical engineer, feels this brain state is “an excellent neuro-pathway exerciser that promotes optimal brain performance.” Cosgrove feels regular achievement of synchronization “could delay deterioration of the brain due to aging for decades.” Also the human growth hormone (HGH) produced in Delta offers proven anti-aging benefits.
A study conducted by Dr. Giampapa, an ex-President of the American Board of Anti-Aging Medicine, reveals that Alpha, Theta and Delta brainwaves increase the production of hormones important for increased longevity and well-being.
At slower brainwave patterns, the production of DHEA and melatonin increases significantly: DHEA as much as 90%, and melatonin up to 300%.
Widened Scope of Awareness
Dr. Lester Fehmi of Princeton University believes that induced brain synchronization is the best known method for getting information into the “whole brain.” According to Fehmi, during such an experience you “widen the scope of your awareness (and) become less self-conscious and function more intuitively.”
Super-Learning
One valuable benefit of sound-induced brain synchronization is an improved ability to learn. What is today known as “ super-learning” first began with the work of Bulgarian psychiatrist Georgi Lozanov.
In the early ‘70s Lozanov used a combination of guided relaxation and “synchronized rhythms” to create Alpha brainwaves in students. His subjects managed to learn five times more information in a given time that the “non-treatment” subjects. They also remember the materials better.
Another researcher, biofeedback expert Dr. Thomas Budzynski, describes Theta as: “A transition zone between wakefulness and sleep in which one can absorb new information in an uncritical, non-analytical fashion.” He feels Theta brainwaves allow new information to pass directly to the right hemisphere of the brain — bypassing the “filters” of the left hemisphere. (Note: This corresponds to bypassing the critical conscious mind … and entering directly into the subconscious mind.)
In their book Beyond Biofeedback” researchers Elmer and Alyce Green claim that persons experiencing enhanced Theta waves have “life-altering insights leading to deep feelings of psychological well-being.”
The Greens report that following hemispheric synchronization-type Theta training, their research subjects were “psychologically healthier, had more social poise, were less rigid and conforming, and were more self-accepting and creative.” Their subjects also reported “improved relationships (and) greater tolerance, understanding, and love of oneself and of one’s world.”
Recovery from Addiction
Slower Alpha and Theta brainwave states are known to assist recovery from substance addiction. In 1989 Doctors Eugene Peniston and Paul Kulkosky, at the University of Southern Colorado gave induced alpha and theta training to a group of alcoholics. Their subjects had much faster recovery rates than a non-trained control group.
Improved Memory
Many studies have shown that brain synchronization increases memory. In a 1984 article appearing in Science Magazine, researchers Gary Lynch and Michael Baudry of the University of California at Irvine reported that for a memory to form, the brain must experience “long-term potentiation” (LTP) – a process involving electrical and chemical changes in the neurons.
Without LTP, incoming information is quickly forgotten. Lynch and Baudry reported that the key to long-term memory is the Theta brainwave pattern.
Pain Reduction and Management
Dr. Margaret Patterson, an English pioneer in the use of altered brainwave frequencies, found that 10 cps Alpha brainwaves stimulate the production of serotonin – the brain neurotransmitter responsible for increased relaxation and pain reduction.
Endorphins, the “feel good” neurotransmitter experienced by runners, are also released when your brain is focused in Alpha and Theta. Several endorphins have positive effects on mental functions, and their release is directly tied to Alpha and Theta brainwaves.
Brainwave training takes advantage of a very natural tendency of your brain to follow along with certain stimuli. This is called “brainwave entrainment.” When you tap your foot to keep time with music or become very relaxed while gazing at a fire, you do so because your brain has been entrained by the beat of the music or the movement of the flames, and is following along.
Baroque music, for example, has been proven to improve students’ test scores, also increased scores on IQ tests.
Brainwave training
The Quantum Mind brainwave training has been specifically engineered to train your brain to hold the specific brainwave combinations Dr Ammon-Wexler has found in the brains of super-achievers.
Over a three-month period you will actually install the brainwave patterns of super-achievers into your own brain. The specially-engineered AMP streaming audio brainwave trainings incorporate several techniques and formats:
- Blended synchronized sound only,
- Voice-under synchronized sound,
- Voice-under nature sounds and synchronized sounds,
- Blended nature sounds and synchronized sounds
- Binaural beats with nature sounds.
- Specially engineered unique combinations of the above.
